Trip to Ladakh

Trip to Ladakh

A couple of weeks in India provided a whirlwind introduction to achingly beautiful, exotic, Kashmir and remote, rugged, breathtaking Ladakh.

Landing in Delhi was akin to landing in a furnace, so life on the calm waters of Lake Dal in Srinigar, a day later, was a welcome relief. Colourful floating markets and daily life conducted from boats would have provided enough photographic subject matter for weeks, but Ladakh called. And so it was, that we headed over a couple of the highest passes in the world into a land of rugged, arid, majestic terrain, balanced by the spiritual tranquility of Tibetan Buddhist culture. And then there were the marmots, and the yaks and the camels…. Truly, a photographer’s paradise. Thanks go to Jackie and Mike of Creative Photography Workshops, for passing on their passion and advice. A trip well worth taking, photographer or not!

But that’s not the end…..then there was Mumbai…in the monsoon…..
